Dear Summer Camp families:
We hope that your families have been able to stay safe and healthy throughout this COVID-19 health crisis. Thank you for your patience and support as we’ve been navigating this challenging time.
We are saddened by the news that Arlington County has cancelled all 2020 Summer camps. However, Jane Franklin Dance is happy to move our camps to an online dance experience! Young dancers can join us virtually to participate in daily dance classes, art projects, creative assignments and lunch with friends in our weekly camp offerings.
We understand this is a difficult time for you, your family and our community. We encourage you and your child to continue with your current enrollment and discover new creative pathways in a summer camp online experience.
If an online option is not suitable, you may apply your tuition towards our Winter/Spring Break camps this coming school year. We are also happy to apply your tuition towards our 2021 Summer Camp enrollment! It is also an option to donate all or part of your tuition to Jane Franklin Dance
Summer Camp options for currently enrolled:
- Roll over your current enrollment to the online platform
- Receive a refund
- Receive a credit to put toward a future Jane Franklin Dance camp
- Donate all or part of your tuition to Jane Franklin Dance
ONLINE CAMP SCHEDULE:
9am-10am – Check-in and Dance Class
10am-10:45am – Performance Rep (based on weekly camp theme)
10:45am-11am – Snack/Bathroom/Water Break
11am-11:30am – Visual Art Project
11:30am-12pm – Zoom Lunch

Students will be sent art project packets via postal mail. The mailer will include print-outs, instructions and examples of projects that use simple household supplies. We will share creative ideas using video and photos, or collaborate on movement using Zoom break-out rooms. Students will also receive Vimeo links to view past performances from the company and draw inspiration. Guest teachers will drop by for special visits offering technique classes in jazz, tap, hip hop or even a TikTok Tutorial. In the tradition of our in-person Summer Camps, we may experiment with live online broadcasts to show our work at the end of the week to families and friends outside the area.
Right now, your support is needed to continue creative learning opportunities for the summer and for the coming year. Your tax-deductible donation of any size will help our nonprofit continue to offer innovative and engaging programming and pay our teaching artists.
