Radford University hosts Jane Franklin Dance in an evening performance featuring recent choreography.  Don't miss this visually compelling performance that moves the spoken word. In the interconnected dance snapshots of "Dancing the Page," determined individuals cope with oranges, rubber bands and folded pieces of cardstock paper. Music includes selections from "Cowboy Bebop," Jimi Hendrix, Charles Mingus and DC's own Jonathan Matis. Also on the program is a piece included in the International Dance Festival in New York this past summer, "To Flower" with original music by Catholic University's Snark Ensemble –Maurice Saylor/Andrew Simpson/Philip Carluzzo. The gender identifying witty fun takes hold in the surreal favorite "Leroy" with an exercise trampoline bouncing male, and women with white coat hangers hurling distant memories. The residency is supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Paul Mellon Arts in Education Program.
