Express yourself and find your passion in the performing arts with Jane Franklin Dance.  The daily schedule incorporates theatre games, creative movement and dance technique, rehearsals for a performance, and visual arts. Campers work on a dance theatre performance and practice speaking roles, learn & memorize text, and create an art project each day.  Come stretch your muscles and find a whole new way of moving while using your imagination.  By the end of the week you’ll be on stage and be a star. Camp information packets including directions, required forms and parent/guardian contact information are available for download for each week of camp.

Dance & Theatre Spring Break Camp – Ages  6 – 8

Dance Mania Spring Break Camp! – Ages 6-8

Dance, Dance, and more Dance! Campers will discover the wide world of dance by taking classes in several dance techniques, building choreography, and exploring ideas through visual arts and crafts. If your child can’t get enough dance, is active and creative, this is the camp for the energetic dance star. As well as dance technique, campers explore dance history and iconic scenes from dance movies and musicals. The Big Meow Spring Break Camp – Ages  6 – 8

Express yourself and find your passion in the performing arts with a daily schedule of theatre games, creative movement, dance technique, and visual arts and crafts projects. Students prepare a mini-performance inspired by the book by Elizabeth Spires, “The Big Meow” and practice speaking roles, learn & memorize text and participate in physical story-telling.  Come stretch your muscles, create visual arts & crafts,  and find a whole new way of moving while using your imagination.  By the end of the week you’ll be a star.   Click to download the Parent information packet

Students prepare a mini-performance about an unlikely friendship between mouse and reclusive poet Emily Dickinson inspired by the book by Elizabeth Spires, “The Mouse of Amherst.”  Come stretch your muscles, create visual arts & crafts,  and find a whole new way of moving while using your imagination.  By the end of the week you’ll be a star. Stop, Drop & Roll Summer Camp – Ages 7 – 9

Have you ever gone to a ball game and marveled at the timing and chance moments of teamwork?  We’ll make a dance that does just that to show for family and friends on Friday. Stop, Drop & Roll energizes with two teams of dancers to create a dance theatre work that simulates competition.  The day includes two different dance technique classes, performance preparation, visual arts, literary arts and theatre games.

PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES
As per Arlington County requirements, all students 10 years old and younger must be escorted to and from the studio by a parent or responsible adult, i.e. they may not be dropped off or picked up in the parking lot.  You will need to sign-in at the Studio 3700 desk which is accessed by entering the building from the back parking lot. The downloadable camp packets above include required media waiver and emergency contact forms for parents/guardians to sign and return to Jane Franklin Dance prior to your child’s camp starting date.

REFUNDS for SPRING BREAK and SUMMER CAMPS
No refunds for spring break camps after Feb 1; for summer camps after June 1. Refunds are subject to a $35 administrative fee per camp session. Jane Franklin Dance is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and cannot provide refunds. In the event of camper illness we cannot offer a refund and provide no make-up policy.

Seeking Spring Break and Summer Camp 2015 Volunteers
Help with dance camps for young children! Dates: Mar 30 – Apr 10 (Spring Break Camps) and/or July 13 – Aug 14 (Summer Camps). Volunteer for one week or more. Camps run from 9am-3pm with 3-5pm optional after care. This is a great way to gain community service hours, get in touch with innovative dance, assume a leadership role, and have a great time with fun and focused people. You will receive a letter of completion and certificate documenting your hours of service.  We welcome older adults as well as teens.
