Artistic Director Jane Franklin's
innovative dances have been presented in Colorado, Maryland,
New York, Ohio, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington DC,
Wyoming, North Carolina and in London, England. Her work has been funded
by the Boulder Arts Commission, the Colorado Council
on the Arts and Humanities, Denver Ballet Guild, Neodata
Endowment, Virginia Commission for the Arts, National
Endowment for the Arts, Arlington Commission for the
Arts, Alexandria Commission for the Arts, by foundations
including the Arlington Community Foundation, Washington
Forrest Foundation, Alexandria United Way, William D.
Euille Foundation and commissioned by numerous companies,
schools and communities nationwide. Jane's professional
credentials include an MFA from the Ohio State University
as a University Fellow and certification from the Laban/Bartenieff
Institute of Movement Studies. She has taught at Naropa
Institute, University of Colorado, Loretto Heights College,
The Ohio State University, Luther College, Shenandoah
University, Laban/Bartenieff Institute for Movement
Studies in New York, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange School, and
George Mason University. Jane
was an invited presenter at Dance and the Child International
Conference in Saskatchewan, Canada, has led workshops
for the Kennedy Center's "Professional Development
Opportunities for Teachers" program and has served
on grant panels for the Virginia Commission for the
Arts and for the Maryland State Arts Council.
Brianne Barrow Little, originally from North Carolina, graduated from NC State Univeristy in 2001 with an English degree and, in 2005, from American University with a Master of Arts in Dance. Prior to coming to the DC area, she danced and performed with Meredith Dance Theatre under Alyson Colwell-Waber and David Beadle in North Carolina. She has performed in the works of Peter DiMuro, Keith Johnson, DougVarone, Gerri Houlihan and, locally, Christine Stone Martin and April Betty. Brianne is enjoying her time with Jane Franklin Dance, and has also performed with Katrina Toews/K2 and Gesel Mason Performance Project. In addition to dancing, Brianne teaches Pilates and works at the Kennedy Center.
Sandra C. Atkinson holds a B.A. in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a M.A. in Dance (Education) from American University. She has been dancing for 23 years in and around the east coast both competitively and professionally. Sandra is an Adjunct Professor at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD and at Northern Virginia Community College- Alexandria Campus, Alexandria, VA. At both institutions she instructs Ballet, Modern, and Jazz technique. In addition being a company member with Jane Franklin Dance; she also dances as a company member with Carla & Company at Dance Place, and is an Adjunct company member with Liz Lerman Dance Exchange.
Michael Nadolski graduated from Catholic University of America in 2001 with a bachelors degree in musical theater. His theater credits include performances with Washington Summer Opera, Olney Theater and Full Circle Theater. He has danced and taught with the New England Performing Arts Center and the University of Vermont.
Stacey Tytleris originally from Brockport, NY. She trained at the Draper Center for Dance Education while dancing with the Rochester City Ballet. Stacey graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Brockport with a Bachelor of Science in Dance. While at Brockport she danced in many faculty and student performances. Stacey received a full scholarship to the Limon Summer Intensive in 2003. She has also attended the Florida Dance Festival, Joffrey Ballet School’s summer intensive, Joffrey Midwest Workshop, and two summers at Walnut Hill. After graduating from SUNY Brockport she moved to New York City to pursue dance. Stacey has performed choreography in New York by Jennifer DeBritton, Leanne Schmidt, Becca Rozell and Amanda Selwyn. She has shown her own choreography in Washington DC and New York City. Stacey currently lives in Baltimore, MD. She dances for Dissonance Dance Theatre in Washington, DC and is a guest artist for The Collective in Baltimore. Stacey is very excited to join Jane Franklin Dance this season.
Florian Rouiller (guest artist) received his early training with Ecole de Danse Contemporaine, while growing up in Geneva, Switzerland. He later earned his diploma at the Stuttgart Ballet School in Germany. In New York, Mr. Rouiller trained at the Joffrey Ballet School and with David Howard. He has performed with Merce Cunningham, Ballet Chicago, Milwaukee Ballet, Ohio Ballet, Joffrey Ballet of Chicago and the Goteburg Operans in Sweden.
